What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Wood in Modern Retail Design: More Than Just Aesthetics

March 27, 2024

In current retail, wood plays a role that surpasses its traditional aesthetic function. Its warmth, texture, and organic character add a distinctive appearance and welcoming feel to shops, essential for creating captivating customer experiences in today’s era.

Wood, historically utilized in retail for its robustness, is now becoming a key element in creating unique and memorable sales spaces. With a growing emphasis on design and sustainability, wood is becoming not just a functional, but also an aesthetically thoughtful material.

Types of wood and their influence

Each type of wood, from traditional solid woods to modern veneered varieties, has its unique impact on the store's atmosphere. While solid wood can create a sense of luxury and durability, light wood surfaces can brighten a space and give it a modern look.

Wood is innovatively used at several levels in retail design. Besides traditional flooring and furniture, wooden ceilings and paneling are increasingly used to create a cozy and warm atmosphere. Wood is also used in combination with modern materials like metal or glass, creating interesting contrasts and giving the space a dynamic appearance.

Furthermore, wood is becoming a popular choice for manufacturing showcased shelves and displays. With its natural texture and warm color, wood provides an ideal background for presenting products, from clothing to electronics. In some cases, wood is even used for creating artistic installations or as a main element of the overall store design, offering customers a unique and memorable experience.

Lastly, wood is utilized in areas requiring increased durability, such as floors in demanding operations. Modern wood processing allows for the creation of durable and easily maintainable surfaces that withstand high traffic without sacrificing the material's aesthetic value.

Sustainability and Ecology

Sustainability and ecology are increasingly important in retail design. Wood, as a renewable resource, plays a key role in eco-friendly design. Choosing wood from sustainable sources, such as certified forests, ensures minimal environmental impact. Moreover, modern wood processing, including recycling and repurposing, allows retailers to create beautiful, functional, and environmentally responsible spaces.

The use of wood from ecological farming and innovative processing techniques, like thermal modification to increase its durability, further support an ecological approach. Including wood in retail spaces contributes not only to aesthetic value but also reflects retailers' commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.

Wood is becoming a pivotal element in modern retail design, not just for its aesthetic value but also for its ability to create pleasant and memorable shopping experiences. Its increasing use reflects a trend towards authenticity, quality, and sustainability in the retail environment.

Tips for Using Wood in Your Store

  • Choose the right type of wood: Every type of wood has specific characteristics and aesthetics. Decide whether you want to create a warm and welcoming space using solid wood, or prefer a light and modern look with veneered variants. Always consider the impact your chosen material will have on the overall atmosphere of your store.
  • Innovate with wood: Don't be afraid to experiment and innovate with different ways of using wood in your store. You can create unique wooden claddings, ceilings, or even artistic installations that capture attention and create an unforgettable customer experience.
  • Combine wood with other materials: For a dynamic and visually interesting space, combine wood with other materials such as metal, glass, or concrete. This combination can help create a unique design language for your store that reflects the values and identity of your brand.
